Star Trek: Starbase 777 - league-room-02

There were 2 lifesigns in this room, both Klingon. The room had a bunch of private gaming booths as well as 'closed' booths that locked from the outside. There were tons of computers, all set up to play League of Space Legends.

In THIS room, the hatch to the tubes opened up on the ceiling, so you could drop down like badasses.

There was carpet, thankfully, so not too hard of a landing. In the room there were also some pillows on the gaming chairs because well, ergonomics or something.

Yipee! He landed on carpet, red or not, and looked around the room, looking more closely to see where the lifesigns were in comparison to where they were at now - not saying anything for now in case they were really close.

The two lifesigns were coming from the private gaming booths that were locked from the outside so the occupants could not unlock themselves.

Chris dropped down soon after Allan, making a little squeak noise when he hit the floor.

Dezyim followed suit, and slipped onto the floor before looking around. He peered around at the screens. “Do you think they’d set off an alarm if we tried to… not play League of Space Legends?”

"That is a question.. hmm..." Alizati said, also curious about that.

"They're the same people we're trying to rescue, and there's not any other lifesigns here currently, so... we might be good here for now, in terms of, ah - no alarms, but - it'd be worth it to check if there was a way in to the main power system through the computer networks themselves," he went over to one of the computers. Was it just open to the League of Space Legends screen?

The computers were all set to the League home screen, prompting for a login. One could navigate to other programmes, but as to be expected it was all password protected.

Iviaan glided down peacefully. Whee. "Cracking passwords isn't exactly my strong suit..."

"Password protected again.." he mumbled, mostly to himself as he looked at the screen. Was it a situation like the last time where they had the most insecure password system ever where it told them how many letters were in it?

They dropped down like spiderman. "Maybe we can find out the password by playing the game." Maybe it was a character voiceline or something.

The password was not a guessing game this time, it was something you would need to figure out although as Thalass hypothesised, the only way to find it would be... to play the game or perhaps there were clues somewhere in the room.... there were those 2 trapped Klingons in the booths.

"We should let the hostages out and see if they have any information. I'd also like to scan them for injuries and illnesses, if you don't mind," Ivi offered. The tone would've been polite, but oh well. He really should work on something for that.

"Something like that, maybe.. it's been years since I've played," he walked a little closer to the booths where the Klingons were, and tilted his head as he looked back at the group. "Maybe it's worth - yeah, exactly that," Allan nodded, going up and trying to unlock one of the booths.

The two private booths had little screens on the outside of them for the lock with a little puzzle on each...

They approached the lock puzzle, prepared to play a little minigame.

“Here, I’ll get the other one.” Dezyim moved over to the other one and started turning it gently in his hand.

The first lock puzzle was as follows. one needed to mark 2 bombs.

They marked the two squares to the left and right of the center blank tile.

Safe! the door opened to reveal a Klingon. "Ah-ah?? I can come out?? I had 69 consecutive wins..."

"That's very good. Can you stand?" Iviaan vroooomed over to offer the Klingon a hand. If they'd been sitting for a long time they'd likely be a little unsteady.

The Klingon happily took Iviaan's hand and stood slowly, with shaky legs. "A little... they... Wait, you're not here to make us play more games?"

Nice. "You may." They looked into the booth thing for any clues, wondering if they were allowed bathroom breaks.

Nothing of note in the booth, but it did smell gross. No bathroom breaks but the Klingons seemed incredibly dehydrated.

Dezyim straightened up, dropping the lock. “Ah… Lieutenant Allen, are you familiar with this kind of puzzle?”

"No, of course we won't. We want to help. Are you feeling sick or injured at all?" Iviaan moved to help the Klingon, supporting them to the best they could as they regained balance while scanning them with their free hand.

These gamers must have killer RSI right now. Might need some new thumbs. "I will see if I can play the game with one hand." Real world league was not that accessible, but maybe space league was?

"Yeah, hit me, what've we got-" he looked over Dezyim's shoulder at the lock and turned his head to the side as he tried to recognize what the pattern was... "Oh, I forget what this shit's called, but it's like.. each number tells you how many bombs it's touching. So you wanna click the first two, I think, because the 1 on the left can only be touching that one on the very left, and then that first 2 also can only be touching 2, and needs two... so, yeah, those. Not sure what the 1 at the top's doing, but... yeah, my bet's the first two."

"I haven't bathed or had a thing to eat or drink for two days," The Klingon said with his bloodshot eyes and his hands shaking. "Umm.. no you don't want to play this game, it's not fun anymore..."

"I wonder who is running this operation..." Alizati said, not forgetting they were trying to find the password to get into the system.

"Commander tr'Kota, sir, would you mind replicating some food and water for him?" Iviaan made the switch to TTTS one more, focusing on checking the Klingon for any other injuries or illnesses. "You can have a seat and rest. Once you aren't quite so starving, we'll try to get you to stretch so you're a bit steadier on your feet, alright?.. Could we have your game login? We want to check and see if we can access any other computer programs, but we need a password to do that, and we want to check the game for clues," he said, gesturing to the computer that was not in the biohazard booth. "Affimative," And Alizati went to do just that and soon returned with some water and some simple crackers.

Presuming the game was already logged in because the person had just been playing it, Thal had already been sucked into League voice chat toxicity and was now calling people illogical and several untranslatable very rude andorian words.

"Y-Yes, I... I have access.... But the team leader is.." The Klingon looked at the oher locked booth.

"Thank you very much, Commander." Food! It wasn't much, but it was something. "The team leader is in the other booth? We'll have them out soon."

The game played as it always did. It was no different than if one was to play on their own device at home. All of the other players were other prisoners, actually so... in theory one COULD ask them questions that way.

“Oh! That’s not too bad… they really need to up their security.” He winced, realizing what he just said. “Actually no, it’s really good none of this is too difficult.” He pressed the first two squares.

Correct!!! The second booth opened and there was another Klingon, a woman, very buff, way too big for the booth. She also looked very nervous and exhausted, less dehydrated though,

Dezyim offered his arm out to her to help her up and support her. “Here, we’re getting you out of here. We have a doctor who’s going to help you.” He spoke smoothly and calmly. It was very different from his normal cadence.

As they slowly lost the match they were in, they asked the other players if they knew the password they were all trying to find for reasons I forget, as well as some other basic information like how long they'd been here and who was doing this to them.

The Klingon took Dezyim's arm and stepped out from the booth. "It was so stuffy in there.. I am lucky it's only been half a day for me," She said as she attempted to push her long hair from her face. The players responded to Thalass with confusion. Most of them spoke about an 'official league' email they had received. The majority of players were Klingon and had been eager to join the KDF official League team to represent their great faction through esports. They mostly spoke about the Vaadwaur guards, none mentioned Moneans. As for a password, they said network passwords were unqiue to team leaders in their league room.

A few other players called Thalass a 'fucking n00b' since they were losing.

"I can imagine. I'm very glad you both are...mostly alright," Iviaan offered her water and crackers, and scanned her over even so. "You're the team leader, right? Do you have any information about the other programs on the computer?"

"If we can get into even just the network side of the computer programs, we'll be able to just shut the wifi off," Allan said, "which would, well - pretty much be like shutting the power down on the whole thing, but we could also do pretty much whatever we want if we get deep enough into it."

"O-oh... the network... yes I am the team leader. I was the highest ranked player in the KDF before.... before all of this," The woman said, waving her hand. "Yes.. Fucking n00b. That is the password. I am sorry I did not make it more..... interesting."

"Evidently, the password is my name." Their flop era continued, unable to think of any constructive questions to ask but too stubborn to admit defeat.

"No, no, it's okay, thank you, really, it doesn't have to be interesting," he smiled at her and went over to one of the computers not in the booths, typing the password into it and attempting to go straight to the network settings on the computer.

The password worked and Allan could navigate to the network settings. Sadly each wing had its own network buuut he could turn the wifi off for the Da Nang wing!

Hmmm. "Okay, so there's just one network showing up here, but there's like... only a few computers connected to it compared to how many players there actually are, so there might be other ones somewhere... I'll go ahead and shut this one off, though," and he did that, attempting first to do it through just straight up changing the password to the wifi if it was that easy. If not, he'd try the long proper hacking way of going into the DNS settings and fucking about with that.

The wifi in the room and the entire Da Nang room shut off!

".... No one can play league now...." The Klingon team leader said, glancing at Thalass who would have lost internet connection and thus disappeared from their game.

"Thank God," he said a little too quickly, and then paused, "sorry, I mean, like - I'm joking, mostly. Although ah, it's a pretty good thing in what this situation is," he said, glancing down at the ankle bracelet if the team leader was wearing one. He briefly wondered if there'd be a way to hack that...

The team leader was wearing the poison bracelet and....... perhaps there was a way to hack it. It was similar to like a bluetooth device, where the guards had a button to activate it whenever they wished. So... if one were to figure out that freqency perhaps they could disarm the bracelet?

"Oh-- wait," Chris whipped out his PADD again. "There's a security hub right down the corridor, maybe we can disable more things there?" Chris suggested, seeing how they only disabled wi-fi for their wing. Maybe there were more facility-wide controls elsewhere?

“Mmmm, I don’t know. There could be guards there. Are we ready for that?” She asked.

Rii was present, their gaze steady as they glanced at the others. With a fluid motion, they unhooked their phaser from their belt. *“This one reminds you— we have Starfleet training and are armed. We can handle it, Ensign Vara.”Setting the phaser to stun while they were talking.* (edited)

"Rii is correct, we also have tricorders that can detect lifesigns," Alizati mentioned in addition to what Rii said.

Dezyim leaned over, looking at the pad Chris was holding. He was trying to get a sense of how big the corridor and security room were.

Chris held the PADD up to Dezyim so he could see the layout. The security hub was a fairly large room so it must have some cool stuff. It was right around the corner from the league room.

Rii cast a glance at Alizati before speaking and nodded at the tricorder comment.. *“Let’s move forward down the corridor and see if we can disable more. We should actively scan for lifeforms while walking down—perhaps we can get the jump on them.” *With that, Rii took the lead, making their way down the hallway with steady determination, ready to shoot.

After examining the layout, Dezyim moved to follow Rii, pulling out his phaser. “Thanks, that was helpful.” He said to Chris.

Iviaan glanced up. "What should we do with the hostages? I don't think they're in any state to travel with us, and I do not want to leave them here.."

"We will be okay here. You said you were here to rescue us? The league room is secure and we have a replicator," The team leader told them, not wanting to hold them back.

"Alright. Please take care." Iviaan offered a gentle smile, combatting the cold monotony of the text-to-speech with warmth as best he could. Off he went, following the group.

Rii’s head detached and swiveled back floating a bit off their body as they glanced over their shoulder at the cadet, their tone inquisitive. *“What did you see on the map, Cadet? Any insights before we get there?” *They should have reviewed the layout themselves, but for now, they waited for the cadet’s response. (edited)

“Oh, I was just estimating how many guards to expect based off of size of the room and comparing that to the size of our group. It’s practically just a guess though, so I wasn’t going to share it.” Dezyim ran his hand through the back of his hair and smiled sheepishly.

Iviaan was the one to scan for life forms, as he wouldn't be very good of a shot. He'd try, of course, but hey. "Scanning now, sir. There appears to be two lifeforms ahead. Chelon Rigelian and Antedian. Armed, by the looks of it. Klingon disruptors, and there are an assortment of other weapons around."

"Alright, let's stay vigilant," Alizati said as he clutched his phaser in his hands. "I can cover from the back," He said, being a pacifist and all, he did not like fighting so a more defensive position was the play.

"I can man the front lines, I'm a hard target to hit," *Chris said as he stepped towards the exit and head to #rigas-security-hub *

Dezyim took a deep breath and started following him, phaser in hand. He stayed close to the right wall.
